Typo progress

We've been making pretty good progress towards the next major release of Typo. Here's a short list of what's went in so far:

  • Tags
  • File uploads
  • Gravatars
  • Filter plugins, including:
    • Easy flickr image linking
    • Syntax highlighting
    • Sparklines
    • Auto-generating Amazon affiliate links
  • Comment previews
  • More powerful themes
  • Atom 1.0 support
  • Per-category and per-tag RSS and Atom feeds

There are still quite a few features left on our wishlist; some of those will make it into the next release, some won't. I'm starting to feel like we've passed the halfway point on this release cycle, but we don't have any firm plans for the next Typo release yet. Still, if there's anything that people really want to see in the next major Typo release, now would be a great time to speak up.

How does one go about adding a feature request or suggesting one? I would love to see website navigation built-in and customizable as a plugin. I’m currently writing my own but this seems so basic that it should be included in the code.

This wouldn’t exacty be part of the sidebar, since navigation doesn’t always go there. Some standalone admin page to add/edit/remove navigation items (link name, link title, link uri) would be sweet. Then all we got to do is add a call to the controller in our theme’s layout. That would be killer.
