About the author

I am a system administrator and programmer, currently working for Google. Until August, 2005, I was employed by Network Clarity in Seattle, WA, USA. Prior to Network Clarity, I was a Senior Systems Engineer for Internap, where I was responsible for over 700 systems running Linux, Solaris, and BSD/OS located in dozens of facilities around the world. In addition to handling company-wide server design and architecture, I was responsible for writing and maintaining our internal server configuration-management software, and was the final line of escalation for internal and external Linux and DNS suport issues.
