ECS EZ30 Mini-tablet PC

Cool. It looks like Elitegroup (ECS) has announced a 8” tablet PC with more or less the hardware specs that I’ve been looking for (although a 1.8” hard drive might be better then the 2.5”, it’s hard to say). Looks like a cool toy, and it’s not too outrageously priced (a bit under $900, from what I can tell).

Now, if only it ran something other then XP… I’m not really a Windows fan this year (or any other recent year). I’d love to see what Apple’d do in this form factor, but they keep swearing that they’re not going to do it.

However I think that the ez30 is to much small for pc aplications , but to much big for your pocket, I way a 6 or 5 inch display tablet pc without hardisk with only vary usb option. plus a usb ¡anticrash! 20gb portable hardisk and a usb audio video capture I may have a film pocket pc for the road. Milton.

I know the ARCHOS av500 video/mp3 recorder with pocketpc software, 500$ the hardisk is anticrash and is designed for walk while play. If “ECS EZ30 Mini-tablet PC” make this concept and hardisk technology, then may be a good product

i have an ECS tablet PC and it’s hard disk broke down according to the repair shop (it is already out of warranty and there is no service center in my place) the unit did not come with any recovery disks as windows XP is supposed to be in the hard disk – but since the hard disk is no longer booting, how will i be able to transfer the OS to my new hard disk

    thanks, allen surla ajsurla@yahoo.com
