SpaceShip One is getting ready to go

SpaceShip One is scheduled for their first real launch at 6:30 AM on Monday, and the spectators are starting to line up already. There’s a surprising amount of interest in the launch; apparently people are expecting Mojave to be overrun by spectators.

BoingBoing is blogging the whole thing.

Okay, how many people actually search for “Spaceship one” on Google?

I did check Yahoo and they have 1354 queries per day… using my general rule of thumb and doubling for Google, that’s 2708 queries per day from Google.

How many hits you getting with referer showing “Spaceship One”??

Okay, pardon my last reply, it was 592 days later, LOL!

I guess that’s one great thing about the web… the original post was old but still something worth reading (and commenting on).

So far this month, I’m not showing any searches with the word ‘space’ in them. There’s a chance that awstats misreported them. FWIW, I don’t see a 2:1 ratio between Google and Yahoo here–I see about 18:1:

    • Google: 27482 queries
    • Yahoo: 1533 queries
    • AOL: 169 queries
    • MSN: 157 queries
